ADLER was retained by New England Motor Freight (NEMF) to
provide, civil and structural engineering, geotechnical
engineering, and construction oversight
services associated with the erection of three
(3) 100-foot tall parking lot light poles at their
corporate terminal facility. The light poles served to
replace numerous, shorter light poles scattered
throughout the parking lot, provide more uniform
lighting, and enhance security measures.
For the planning, site development, activities on this
project, ADLER provided the following services:

Geotechnical investigation and percolation test.
·
Civil site plans for pole locations.
·
Structural engineering design for foundation, loading dock,
stem wall, and modifications to the existing roof
system.
·
Coordination with manufacturer of light poles and fixtures.
·
Construction oversight, monitoring of pile driving and
inspections.
The project was constructed and opened for operation in 1998

ADLER was retained by New England Motor Freight (NEMF) to
provide surveying, civil and structural engineering,
geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and
construction management and inspection services
associated with the construction of a 20-door trucking
terminal expansion and trailer parking lot. The terminal
expansion consisted of a two-story ,pre-engineered metal
building with an elevator, primary and emergency access
stairs, and an elevated concrete loading dock.
For the planning, site development activities on this
project, ADLER provided the following services:

Existing conditions survey with boundary, topography, and
utilities.
·
Geotechnical investigation and percolation test.
·
Civil site engineering design and plans.
·
Structural engineering design for foundation, loading dock,
stem wall, block walls, elevator pit, concrete slabs,
and modification to the existing roof system.
·
Design of trailer parking layout, dock apron, and circulation
routes.
·
Design of site grading, drainage, dry-wells, utility
extensions, asphalt pavement, parking lighting,
landscaping, and soil erosion improvements.
·
Coordination with pre-engineered building manufacturer.
·
Acquisition of Town permits and approvals.
·
Asbestos survey, abatement specifications, and coordination
of abatement contractor services.
The construction of this project was completed in
2002.
