Sustainable Landscape Plan

ADLER was retained by the Camden County Office of Economic Opportunity (CCOEO) to provide landscape architectural services for the development of a sustainable landscaping design for  the Liberty Homes residential redevelopment project in the City of Camden.   The project consisted of eleven (11) new single family dwellings with off-street parking and private rear yards.  The objective of the landscape design was to incorporate sustainable principles and measures into the landscaping on the project.     The sustainable principles evaluated or incorporated into the landscape design included the following:

·          Evaluation of sun/shade relationship on each of the proposed lots and locating of trees to maximize the effects of shade/sun during the various seasons.

·          Specification of a “low mow” grass that requires less frequent mowing.

·          Low maintenance, drought resistant plant species.

·          Specifying of plant species that are also indigenous to the area.

The project design was and construction was completed in 2002.
