Girard College, Philadelphia, PA
ADLER has been chosen to provide the Civil Engineering
tasks for the entire rehabilitation and upgrading of the
Girard College Campus in Northern Philadelphia.
The $20 million construction project, which was
commenced in March of 1999, included the development of a new
dormitory, elementary school, baseball/softball/soccer fields,
400 meter synthetic surface track, long and jump track with
shot put course, parking areas, and various other site
improvements. The
construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2001.
During this project, ADLER worked with Granary
Associates, the Program Manager, and Vitetta Group, the
Project Architect.
ADLER designed the sports fields, drainage systems, roadway
and parking facilities, utility connections, exterior lighting
improvements, ADA accessible routes, and walkway improvements.
The firm surveyed the entire complex and provided input
to the college and architect in the efforts to validate the
college’s master plan.
ADLER was selected as a result of its experience
in an institutional projects and its ability to respond from
both its New Jersey and Pennsylvania offices.
SCHOOLS
State of New Jersey, Department of Construction and
Property Management – County Regional Day Schools
Camden, Atlantic, Cape May Counties, NJ
ADLER teamed with
Studio Tagland Architects, of Harvey Cedars, NJ, to provide to
the State of New Jersey, surveying and engineering design and
construction administration services associated with the
construction of a classroom additions at three (3) County
Regional Day Schools located in Camden, Atlantic, and Cape May
Counties, NJ. The
site improvements designed consisted of classroom additions,
parking lot expansions, utility relocations, stormwater
management devices, ADA accessible routes, retaining walls,
and fencing.
ADLER performed an
existing condition surveys and prepared conceptual plans, site
engineering design, design development documentation,
construction documentation, specifications, utility connection
and service design, permitting, bidding phase services, and
construction oversight. Through
the advancement of the project, ADLER attended project
design and progress meetings with the State, school
administrators, reviewing agencies, and design team.
The construction of this project was completed in the spring of 2003.
RECREATION
Park Ranger’s Office at Bull’s Island Recreational
Area - State of New Jersey, Department of Construction and
Property Management - Hunterdon County, NJ
ADLER teamed with
Studio Tagland Architects, of Harvey Cedars, NJ, to provide to
the State of New Jersey, surveying and engineering design and
construction management services associated with the
construction of a new Park Ranger’s Office at the Bull’s
Island Recreational Area on the Delaware River in Hunterdon
County, NJ.
ADLER performed an
existing condition survey and prepared conceptual planning and
site engineering design, design development documentation,
construction documentation, specifications, utility connection
and service design, septic system design, permitting, and
construction oversight. Through
the advancement of the project, ADLER attended project
design and progress meetings with the State, reviewing
agencies, and design team.
The construction of this project was completed in the spring of 2002.
RECREATION
Lifeguard and
Comfort Station, Northeast Inlet Beach, Atlantic City, NJ –
Casino Reinvestment Development Authority
ADLER has been retained by the Casino Reinvestment
Development Authority (CRDA)
to provide Civil Engineering Design and permitting
acquisition for the construction of a new lifeguard station
with public bathrooms on the beach at the intersection of
Maine and Caspian Avenues with the promenade.
ADLER worked closely with the CRDA, City
of Atlantic City, and the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection in the establishment of the building
placement, alterations to the seawall, and both lifeguard and
public access. In conjunction with the preparation of construction
drawings, ADLER prepared necessary NJDEP-CAFRA
applications, interfaced with the NJDEP regarding project
design and approvals, and obtained the site development permit
and approvals for the facility.
The construction was completed in the
summer of 2002.
